    • Porsche Taycan outsells every other Porsche car

Electrics are gaining steam (pardon the pun). The Porsche Taycan in particular is being received quiet well outselling every other Porsche car which includes the 911 and 718 models in addition to the Panamera.

Now those models combines still sell far more but it is telling the Taycan is the best selling Porsche vehicle that is not an SUV:

Will this last? Will the disparity increase?

If anything, this indicates we will see a completely electric SUV from Porsche soon.

Wasn't there some (probably BS) rumour that that next gen Macan would be a full EV?

It’s a beautiful design and the numbers it’s doing is amazing, I’d say Porsche hit a home run with it. Now they need to step it up for the next model year with lucid air throwing some serious heat into the EV war.

If Lucid is doing what they are doing I can only imagine what Porsche is going to bring.

I could see a full ev model in the lineup but there is no way they're going ev only with the brands best seller.

There’s clearly been some cannibalization of the Panamera. But impressive results nonetheless. I agree that it’s one of the few attractive EVs out there today with amazing performance. Like @Sticky said - I bet they’ve got some amazing performance models up their sleeves.

The thing with ev cars is that i for one will not feel safe and fear of having an outdated model. Each year the bar gets raised much higher compared to gasoline cars and what we as gas car owners are used to. You get a Taycan turbo and next year they will come with a S to compete with the Tesla insane mode and other brands, and so on. This to an extent will be a problem for traditional car makers too i guess, they are not used to updating models each and every year, on the other hand these EV new companies act more like a tech company with a much higher development rate.

Agreed - They are more tech company like. But the HW doesn’t always change each year - it’s often over the air (OTA) SW and FW updates, so they’re backwards compatible to previous generations. Seems like the HW changes every 3-4 years similar to regular automakers now.

Gas cars are progressing at an incredible rate as well.

The main thing in my view ICE will have over EV is tuning ability and the lighter fun to drive factor.

Teslas and such are becoming appliances. The thing will eventually just drive for you.

It makes sense. It is a great car to drive and for sure is the best looking EV.

I still don't have a burning desire to own an EV but if I did buy one it would be a Taycan.

I can see the need for one. If I had a 3 car garage my arrangement would look something like: SUV for roadtrips, camping, offroad. Sports car. Small'ish EV for commuting and getting around the city.
