    • New King? Lucid Air Dream vs. Tesla Model S Plaid

This is what we eagerly waited for. The Tesla Model S Plaid is the champion and we all know that. However, is the reign to be short lived? The Lucid Air Dream is the newest contender and, well, it is not here to play second fiddle to anyone.

Dragtimes does four runs in total.

And.. uh... the Plaid wins? WTF?

What happened to Lucid's ridiculous performance claims?

Very, very odd results here. At least if you consider Lucid's marketing numbers which don't seem to translate to the real world.

You figure out what is going on.

I appreciate brooks and drag times because they are at the forefront of testing the latest and greatest performance cars.

Brooks could have done much better than this. Weirdly prepped surface, arm drop, who knows what else. Plus that charlatan Hennessey involved. Seems too street outlaws to me.

This one did seem a little different that usual but that’s perhaps because he was at Hennessy’s personal track and not PBIR his usual testing site. Still though, are there other channels getting the best cars out there and running them against other top (most desired) performance cars?

100% I would wait to see other data to back this up before claiming a winner.

Um, I didn’t watch the video, but the trimotor Lucid isn’t out yet, and that is the version that ran that linked time.

Isn't the 1111 hp version tri motor and the highest performance variant?

no, that’s just the performance version available for order now with dual motors. I’ve had a preorder in for a long time and was told there’s no ETA on the trimotor.

I see. So what is the tri-motor horsepower?

Each motor is “rated” for 670 HP probably to conveniently end with 2010 hp as a theoretical max. I don’t know how much power was used on that ridiculous 157 trap pass.

        Thanks for clearing that up.
