    • Koenigsegg's 'Quark' 63 pound EV motor with 335 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque

Compact, light, and powerful. That is what the EV motor Koenigsegg designed dubbed Quark offers. The motor only weighs 63 pounds while offering an impressive output of 335 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque.

You can imagine multiple Quark motors making for a very potent yet potentially light EV (depending on the batteries of course).

      Why is this motor special?

The Quark, announced Monday, combines both radial- and axial-flux constructions to offer a good balance between power and torque.
This contributes to an industry leading torque to weight ratio.

Koenigsegg states they would like to see the motor in applications beyond automotive use such as marine or even aerospace.

It will be interesting to see what the motor ends up in and how it performs in the real world.

This looks awesome. Vonnen should borrow this motor for their shadowdrive motor that goes in between the motor and trans for Porsches.
