    • EV swapped classic 911 (Tesla motor) vs. Porsche 992 GTS

Pretty interesting comparison here and we will see more of this as classic cars are retromodded to accept EV powertrains. In this particular instance the classic 911 gets a single Tesla EV motor good for roughly 450 horsepower and of course instant torque.

The new 992 GTS is heavier at ~3350 pounds or so but EV motors need batteries which erases some of the weight advantage for the older car. Still, at 2810 pounds the advantage is just over 500 pounds.

Keep in mind the new 992 GTS is smoking fast in stock form although this is a manual version and not a PDK.

The drag race is closer than it should be but it goes about as you expect with the launch and gearchanges of the manual GTS favoring the EV.

Rolling runs best illustrate the difference between the two.

Very cool one can take a classic 911 and with an EV motor make a very tough to beat street car.

Very unique comparison, never seen something like that before.

Classic 911 is cool and all but 225k GBP?

id rather have the 992 GTS and a plaid model s for that price!

or a turbo upgraded 992 turbo s and dominate all

It is because of the Tesla hardware. We’ll see much cheaper swaps with off the shelf EV motors.
