All EV SUV drag/roll races - Mercedes EQC vs. BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X vs. Audi e-tron S
EV drag races continue to capture our attention. For one, EV's are the new kids on the block. Secondly, we want to know how tough these will be to beat namely for those of us who do not intend to join the dark side.
These are four major players in the segment. The statistics on paper can be misleading with EV's but here they are in order of horsepower:
1. Tesla Model X 541
2. BMW iX 523
3. Audi e-tron S 503
4. Mercedes EQC 408
What about in order of weight from lightest to heaviest in pounds?
1. Mercedes EQC 5335
2. Tesla Model X 5423
3. BMW iX 5533
4.. Audi e-tron S 5776
The Audi wins by virtue of its launch but the BMW clearly has the strongest top end. Coming up in the rear is the least powerful car which is the Mercede EQC.
The follow up has the BMW come up out on top as the Audi gets a poor launch for whatever reason.
In the final drag race the BMW again shows its top end advantage despite the Audi having a lead due to its launch. It's clear the iX is the fastest car of the group.
Roll races highlight the BMW top end advantage best. It wins and it does so decisively.
If speed is your thing in this group, the BMW iX reigns supreme.
