    • MT gets even more impressive Rivian T1T test numbers - 0-60 3.1, 1/4 mile [email protected]

You likely saw the Edmunds test figures posted for the 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque Rivian R1T. MotorTrend's figures are even more impressive which is incredible when you factor in the 7143 pound curb weight.

That is definitely heavy for a mid-size truck but that weight is well balanced at 51% to 49% front to rear. It also does not stop 60 miles per hour from coming in only 3.1 seconds on street tires. That is en route to a 1/4 mile sprint of 11.6 @ 110.8.

Just absurd numbers for a truck but keep in mind this is not the version with the even larger battery pack which you can expect to be a bit slower due to the weight.

      Oh, it handles well too:

The differences are subtle but notable. Unsurprisingly, on street tires the R1T feels more like a sports car and less like a sports truck than the version on all-terrains does. There's more on-pavement grip, less squish from the tires' tread blocks, and more precision. You don't give up much in off-road capability, either. The street-tired R1T shrugged off a light-duty off-road course just as easily as the all-terrain truck did, though we'd still recommend the all-terrain tires if you have serious off-roading in your future.
What is not to like here? 11,000 pounds towing capacity, motors at each wheel negating the need for locking diffs, sports car handling, and incredible acceleration.

Does it get any better for a truck? No.

I can’t wait for my R1S. Hope they ramp quicker than what we’re seeing so far.

Kind of want to see what the Hummer Truck does before getting the R1T but considering how big and heavy it will be really what will it do better other than the bragging rights of 1000 hp?

Awesome truck and the suv looks super nice too.

Is it the first full size electric suv?
